The Polaroid Wall

Physically saved memories in a digital world.

It started with a gift.

As a high school senior, I was excited to start the next chapter of my life and explore the world on my own. College would be an entirely different experience for me where I’d find out more about who I was as a person, meet a totally new group of friends, and make a ton of great memories along the way. As a graduation gift, I was given an Instax camera with a pack of film by my friend, Vinita. I packed my bags for the University of Hartford seeking to capture as many memories as possible.

As the days, weeks, months, even years went by, the polaroids filled my dorm room wall. Any good friends of mine would make an appearance on the wall. We’d create unforgettable memories that we could all physically look back at. The wall became so unique because it became a physical archive of our memories living in a digital world. Just like our parents, they’d have hundreds of photos stored in albums, picture frames, or hanging on the wall. Social media has conditioned us to constantly look for the next amazing video or picture on our feed but sometimes it’s pleasant to look back at memorable moments and great.

As for me, I hope to provide you with memorable and outstanding quality photos that stand above the “iPhone Photographer” photos we’re so commonly used to. I want your photos to be remembered for a lifetime.

“But where is the wall now?” At its peak, I collected 300+ polaroids that filled an entire wall of our apartment. I began to feel how expensive, time-consuming, and physically imposing. It would become such a task to take down and set up the polaroid wall whenever I’d move into a new apartment. From then on, the polaroid wall project would get disbanded… But with time, I’d find myself breathing new life into the polaroid wall.

Back to side projects.
