Boomerangs
Photos with a little spice
What is a Boomerang?
When you break it down, a video is simply a series of photos played back in quick succession. When I take a series of photos in quick succession, I make boomerangs. Bite-sized videos that are pictures in motion. Over the years, I’ve developed it into a unique style of my own.
Parallax
Changing perspective around an object or the subject of your photo creates the parallax effect. Objects in the foreground and background move giving the photo life.
Focal Length Shift
Not everything is about the right angle. The focal length (zoom) of your lens changes everything. The more cropped focal length in you are (zoomed in), the flatter and more condensed everything is. The wider the focal length (zoomed out), the more depth there is to your subject. When you take a series of pictures between wide and cropped focal lengths, it creates a trippy effect to a boomerang. Seems like it’s straight out of an Alfred Hitchcock film!
Stabilized
Sometimes simplicity is best. Letting the motion of your subject and changes in light of the environment you shoot in adds beauty to the composition.
